English: "Big Data" refers to a technological phenomenon that has emerged since the mid-1980s. As computers have improved in capacity and speed, the greater storage and processing possibilities have also generated new problems. But these new requirements, which can be observed in patterns and trends never seen before in the management of these phenomenally large data sets, can be difficult to implement without new analytical tools that allow users to be oriented, highlighting the possible points of interest. DARPA's XDATA program and the community of researchers and artists who have gathered there will be essential to advance the state of the art related to Big Data.
