Scope:
SME PLAT-I horizontal, in-stream, tidal energy generator |
Reason:
When I originally made this image, I did not know what was this strange device floating in the harbor. I subsequently discovered that it is one of the many attempts at renewable tidal power generation using a horizontal, in-stream, turbine design.
What distinguishes this device is that it attempts to be a power supply focused at a community level (no large infrastructure required) and was constructed by a local builder of lobster boats.
While the developer, Sustainable Marine Energy, has subsequently floundered financially, this image has value documenting one of the many attempts of renewable tidal power generation. -- GRDN711 (talk) |
- Comment I thought it would be helpful to provide wider image as context for the function of this tidal energy generator. Still, you raise a good point for VI. I have cropped the imagte more tightly to the device. --GRDN711 (talk) 01:02, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Much better now. --El Golli Mohamed (talk) 11:18, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment El Golli Mohamed - based on your cancelled oppose, have changed the status back to "nominated" and seek further support for this nomination. --GRDN711 (talk) 13:20, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Scope:
Taxodium distichum (swamp cyprus) - knees |
- Comment When you say "cultivated", do you mean that a plant of the Taxodium distichum (bald cyprus) tree was taken from its natural wet environment of the in the southern US and Mississippi Valley and re-planted in the Famberhorst Nature Reserve in Joure, Netherlands? Or is it a "cultivar" where a plant is cultivated over several plant generations for certain traits? --GRDN711 (talk) 18:45, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment A plant transplanted to the Nethwerlands and cultivated still retains the genetic print of the species. Cultivars are more questionable.
- Your image is technically excellent and while there are others (many by you), this one (focus stacked, wet, with greenery on top like a hat) stands out. However, the scope seems too descriptive. IMO, something simpler, closer to "Taxodium distichum (swamp cyprus) - knees" would be better in keeping with COM:VIS guidelines and others on this page. --GRDN711 (talk) 19:11, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Scope:
Opel Combo E (Facelift) Cargo - right front view |
Used in:
de:Opel, de:Opel Combo, en:Citroën Berlingo, en:Opel Combo, uk:Opel Combo |
Comment There are several other right front views in the CAT that are better than the nom. Many are 2018. Is this image from 2023 visually distinct? If so, you may like to create a sub-cat for 2023 and make the scope more specific. --Tagooty (talk) 03:20, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply] Comment @Tagooty: thanks for your review, I created a sub-category.--Alexander-93 (talk) 16:17, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Neutral I am confused: from the , it appears that a single model has been produced from 2018-present, so what is the sub-cat? I leave it to others who are more familiar with these car models to decide. Tagooty (talk) 02:58, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
